Hi. I just found this subreddit and this story came up on my mind. Also I'm on mobile and english is not my primary language. A little backstory: One of my friends doesn't really know the roads on the city which is why this all happened. So me and my friends were casually riding our bikes up a hill which leads to multiple roads. We took a sharp right turn then a left turn and were heading near a church when my cousin called my friend's name but he didn't respond. We have a problem now. We went back to the spot with the multiple roads and were yelling out his name. No response. We searched everywhere. Every single road. We split into teams of 2 to go find him. The place was so dark that me and my cousin had music on max volume because we were scared. Half an hour later, we meet up again but now we started asking nearby cars if they had seen a kid with a green bike. No one had seen him. After all that the only option we had was to call my aunt which knew the kid's parents. We were intense. We couldn't speak without shouting to one another. On the way to my cousin's house I called my other cousin whose mother is really religious and asked them to pray for the kid. Also that specific aunt doesn't take a lot for her to take action. Keep that in mind. Anyway, we had to drop off my cousin. 3 kids and 2 adults on the lookout. Time: 9:30pm the time that I'm supposed to be home at. As we were heading to the spot that we would pick up the kid I get a call from my mom. This is when I saw the time on my phone. My mom was actually going to give me more time to go find him my father on the other hand wasn't too happy. I hang up only to be called again this time by my cousin saying that his parents found him. We were so happy and relieved when we heard that. So I went home only to be greeted by my dad saying something among the lines of: "You know that your aunt doesn't take much to take action right? If she had called the police we (my parents) wouldn't be able to pick you up since we are repairing the car". I didn't answer. I couldn't. I just stayed there dumbfounded with my mouth open and a surprised look on my face. Si what happened is that my aunt called my mom to see what happened this is why my mom called me. Now for the question: AITA for helping to find my friend that had been lost? via /r/AmItheAsshole https://ift.tt/33pSmXM
