It’s day as Oaky, Oakson, and Eedie, Nila, and Silver are stuck bored in the bunkers. That’s when Eedie, precious and innocent babe that she is, asks a question Oaky wishes she would’ve never asked. “Big brother, what was jail like?”“I’d rather not talk about that,” grumbles Oaky angrily. “Please don’t ask again.”Nila, seeing this and while mad with her friend, can’t help but feel bad and sorry for her friend. “Eedie, please don’t ask your brother about it. He and I don’t want to relive those awful memories, ok?”“Okay,” responds Eedie in tears. “I’m sorry.”“It’s okay,” says Oaky coming over and comforting his sister, “you didn’t know any better.” Nila nods in agreement. After all, Eedie is still a kid. They all understand that.Meanwhile back in the Tartan mines, Syble Lee can’t help but think back to when she first met Oakson. It was a summer several years ago, back before the death of Oakson’s children and a bit before the birth of Eedie. “Hi,” says a young Syble Lee to a young Oakson as he comes out of the Tartan wood with a bundle of sticks in his hands, “I’m Syble Lee. You must be one of daddy’s new work hands. Right? What’s your name?”“Oakson,” responds a young Oakson. “Do you wanna hang out of sometime?” He asks nervously as he wipes sweat away from his brow.“Sure, I’d love that,” Syble responds with a smile. They then that following night do their first date followed by many more and not long after, by an engagement and a wedding with their daughter Rina being born two years after that. Syble lets out a sigh. How she wishes she could go back to those days when all that mattered to Oakson was her and their daughter. Alas, it wasn’t to be, because as soon as their parents died in that tragic accident not long after Eedie turned twelve a few years down the line, he ran right back to his family leaving her and their daughter, also twelve by that point, in the dust.Meanwhile, back in the bunkers, Oakson can’t help but think about his Syble Lee and his Rina as he lets out a sigh. He’s glad Syble has forgiven him for kinda abandoning them when his parents died, but at the same time regrets not being around for her and their daughter as she was growing up. “If only,” he lets out a sigh, “I could turn back time and make everything just right. Alas, I cannot.” Tears begin to stream down his face. All he wants is all his family with him at his side, not just his siblings, but his wife and daughter also. via /r/NilaVerse https://ift.tt/3mZBiPS
