What changes would you have made to the Cullens?

I feel like Carlisle and Esme are way too young to have "kids" that old. I mean, Carlisle is 23, Esme is 26, isn't Emmett like 20? Just seems odd, even for vampires.I think in the movies it seems better executed. Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser were in their early to mid 30's when they were cast (which is still a stretch) but it suited them well. Carlise is such a patriarichal character. I'm a year older than his character and I don't view high schoolers through a parental lense. Same goes for Esme. I guess to be fair, they both came from times where people married very young and had children not much younger than they are, but it seems silly. I think in one of the books, it was mentioned that when it was just Edward and Carlise, they posed as brothers. That makes much more sense! So for the Cullen kids, I would have put them in college, not high school. (I know, I know. We would have a very different story...) But, the only minor in the Cullen family is Edward, so how does sending 19 & 20 year olds to high school make any sense? How many times could you stand having to repeat high school, over and over and over again, even if you had all the time in the world? It would make more sense for the Cullens to be reclusive college students living with their "older brother" and his wife. Heck, if they were college students, they probably could get by with just taking one or two classes a week to call themselves students to give themselves an alibi.I don't know, but the idea of having the ability to live eternally, only going to high school for the last hundred years sounds SO unappealing. No wonder Edward is depressed. via /r/twilight https://ift.tt/2HT7Db6
