Grandma bought a toddler bed, erm No.

My kid is just over 2 years old and is nowhere near being ready to transition to a toddler bed. Like not even on my radar type not ready. So, I was confused as to why Grandma would buy one for her home. (She is graciously watching her 1-2 times a week while I attend college classes. I am very, very appreciative.) At first she explained that LO has outgrown the travel sized pack 'n play. So obviously she intended on putting LO in it. I explained that LO is not ready, listed multiple reasons, some of which were the state of the room. She did try to counter some of my points. Her favorite is to find a work around to get her way and the phrase, "Oh that doesn't matter". I told her it does. The obvious answer is for me to get a pack 'n play for Grandma's house. That can happen in about 3 weeks and told her so.You'd think that would be the end of it. Not with my mother, not in my experience. Quite often she will pay lipservice, then go do what she wants and let the chips fall where they may. Not on everything, but she makes sure to let me know she thinks I'm being ridiculous when she does comply with my decisions for my daughter. My concern is what to do if she does go ahead and sets up the bed. I'm fully prepared to send LO to a fantastic sitter. Grandma can have the bed in her home, that is indeed her choice. But LO will not be sleeping in it. Based on past experience, she will be mad and miffed at her efforts to buy and put the bed together.I understand that not everyone will think this is a big deal. It is about the bed, but more so the pattern of Grandma acting as if she still has veto power. She has done this on small and large things and I'm tired. I've had to sendAny advice?TLDR; Grandma has a pattern of going directly against my decisions as a parent. The toddler bed will create more problems than the one it solves. Grandma might set up the bed, even after I said 2 year old is not ready. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2SsVo74
