SO. Its been a month, almost two at my new school and my coworkers are.... *sighs*

Good evening guys, gals, and non binary pals! BardGirl back at you with another riveting tale about living the CF life in the South.So I am at a new school, teaching 6th grade 😱 Pros are that this school is a DREAM school: -Magnet (special rules but still “public” school) -Performing Arts based -Parental Support, mostly. -Sweet kidsCons: -IM IN A BUBBLE OF CONSERVATISM, HALP. -Im one of... maybe four who isnt married and of those four, Im one of maybe two who dont have children or stepchildren.ANYWHOSo yeah all of my coworkers on my hall have kids. Or multiple kids. Its so awkward at lunch bc they wanna talk about how cute their kids are or going to tennis/football/dance practice after work is JUST SO TIRING or how dumb it is that their angel babies have been in their private Catholic/Baptist/Methodist schools this whole time and us poor public school teachers cant have students full time yet and ITS SO HARD, CORONA ISNT MORE DANGEROUS THAN SCHOOOOOOOLLLLL (🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄)And then I usually make a quip about how I’m hella glad I dont have to deal with that, kid wise, and....Awkward silence. Eyes darting at one another. Someone changes the subject. Ive only gotten three bingos since the year started in August though! Each one I firmly but politely said “Im not having kids, ever. Getting sterilized as soon as I am able, not having sex until Im married anyways and by then Long Term Boyfriend will have had his vasectomy!” (See post history for that story)One coworker lost her mind for a bit until she saw how serious I was. We had a chat and she is MUCH more respectful of it now... which is great bc she is my “mentor” for this year and I love her so much.Im actually more worried about being more liberal in this microcosm of conservatism bullpoop than anything else.
