AITA for "not letting my mom know" I opened some snacks?

I'll just cut straight to the point. I opened a can of snacks, and told my parents MULTIPLE times that I was going to eat that can of snacks. Later, one of my parents gave the (opened!) can of snacks to a friend "without knowing", and I found out. My parents are angry and are blaming me for not letting them know. I told them that I let them know before I opened the snacks, and multiple times after I opened them. They proceeded to say I should have made a marking or put it in a plastic bag so they could know.
