An acquaintance of mine recently went to a fertility clinic to get checked because she eventually wants kids. If that's what she wants, then good for her and all, but she said that it's because she wants to "experience everything she possibly can in life." I don't know if it's just me, but the way that she phrased this really irked me. Parenthood and having a child is not simply an "experience" - it's a HUGE commitment, and it can have a lot of ramifications if you're not ready for it or aren't 10000% sure you want to be a parent. If you just want to experience it, maybe you aren't prepared for the responsibility of having a child. Don't have a kid and set your life on a whole different path just for the sake of going through something that you haven't before. via /r/childfree https://ift.tt/369avKY
