AITA for telling someone that their parents didn't care about their education?

I was chatting about college with my aunt, a private college admissions counselor, when my dad's GF butted in and talked about her experiences. It's because I have to turn in a "college assignment" to my school counselor tomorrow.I was telling my aunt I was aiming for HYPS, the top UC's and other top private schools when my dad's partner butted in and said that she only applied to 1 college and turned out fine in life (not really, based on what she does for work, being a teacher).I then turned around and was like "How the fuck did your parents only make you apply to one college" and she replied that they didn't care what she did. In contrast, my dad (and his fiancee) are ALWAYS on me about my grades and yell at me about not doing homework and stuff. It sucks. I got an 89 on a Spanish test and my dad's fiancee yelled at me for not studying harder.I was just like "Lol so after they paid for expensive Catholic high school, they didn't give a fuck what you did for the rest of your life? How the hell does this make sense? And how did they let you major in Psych and a foreign language?" They put 3 of 5 kids through Catholic high school and only 1 of them (her) went to college.She then said that I was being rude and that different people had different experiences in life and to be respectful of that, so AITA? via /r/AmItheAsshole https://ift.tt/3j4flMl
