I have always believed in ghosts and have been very interested in them my whole life. However I have only had a couple of experiences. This is one of them.About ten years ago I visited New Orleans for the first time. I stayed with my family in the historic French quarter in an old hotel. I can’t remember the name of it. I didn’t think the hotel was haunted and hadn’t heard any stories of it being haunted before our first night. The first night when my family and sister were asleep, I thought I heard humming in my ears as I was trying to fall asleep. I didn’t think much of it at first because I have tinnitus and always hear some kind of noise when it’s dead silent. This was different some how, it was more musical than the normal tinnitus sounds. I shrugged it off and fell asleep eventually. The next day we got talking to some of the employees of the hotel. Of course my mom had to bring up how much I like ghosts and asked if the hotel was haunted. They told us that the hotel was supposedly haunted by a maid who would frequently sing children to sleep. As soon as they said that last part o felt a chill go down my spine. That’s when I remembered the humming I heard the night before. It made sense too because I was the kid of the group.Trying to fall asleep that night was even harder. My sister and I were both freaked out by this time. When the lights went out I was once again the only one still awake. That’s when I started to hear what sounded like the glasses in the the bathroom being moved around. I heard them clicking against each other. I woke up my sister and asked if she could hear it too. She did and we kept listening for a few more seconds. The glasses stopped making noises but then we heard the shower curtains start to move around. We freaked out and I told my sister to turn on the lights. This woke up our parents who were mad and confused why we woke them. They understood after we told them what happened. That was all that happened during my stay at that hotel and I really wish I could remember the name. I haven’t been back to New Orleans since then but I really want to and try to stay at another old hotel to see if I have any new experiences. Thanks for reading. via /r/Ghosts https://ift.tt/3lhOMow
