Kid reported me for not wearing a mask in school

I'm a new teacher in small school. Today principal called me and told me that one of the parents came today and reported that their child is afraid to breathe when I'm nearby because I'm not wearing a mask during our classes. I was shocked because I'm actually this kind of person that wears mask all the time and when I have to take it down I always check if I'm alone. "So the parent is lying then?" Was her response and to be honest I gave up. I just told her that I'm always wearing a mask and never taking it down (only to change it and drink). I don't think she believed me. It's good to see that the word of a kid and then of a parent that wasn't even there is worth more than the word of the teacher. Well, I guess I'm the irresponsible one.
